If You Build it, They Will Come…

-Field of Dreams (But Really W.P. Kinsella)

 Founder + Operator

I often joke that in addition to my formal education, I also hold a Minor in White-Boarding, Workflows and Processes. It is this skill above all else, that my time as an entrepreneur gifted me.

The story began…

after I discovered my infinity for entrepreneurship. It then became my mission to create and run my own business! I knew I wanted to work in design in some way, but other than that I was open to what the market had to tell me. So I went to work. I researched the market, flushed through different ideas, and landed on Wedding Planning and Design. Only the market seemed a bit saturated and I knew I had to differentiate my new company in a big way in order to make a real go of it. I also knew I needed to study up because outside of my own, I had never planned a wedding!

After more in depth market research I discovered that although there was a good number of wedding planners, and a lot of those planner offered day-of wedding coordination, no one was actually specializing in it. There was not a single company in Colorado offering strictly day-of coordination at a fair price, even though it was the most sought after service there was in the market…and so a business was born.

And so I created the first successful strictly Day of Wedding Coordination company in the state of Colorado!

One of the reasons my Day of company was so successful was the Digital Wedding Planning System I created. Within the Planning System couples had an all encompassing workflow called their wedding checklist, automatic reminders, questionnaires to better understand their wedding day desires, vendor payment reminders and payments and education in the form of content from myself to help guide them through the process.

Renovation + Venue Director

When I started Coordination Co. I never dreamt I would grow past it so quickly, but when I was given the opportunity to help start an actual venue it was beyond what I could have hoped possible! A chance to design a venue just as I knew it could and should function. Beyond the renovations and design, I had an opportunity to help build another business and run a team of wedding professionals.

So, I sold my Day of Coordination company to one of my best contractor and moved on to the venue adventure.

First, was a 6 month renovation and business start-up in which I functioned as

Renovation and Venue Director

to create…

Venue Concept & Design

It all began with a vision others could not yet see. My job was to help paint the picture before the reality was visible. Once people saw the picture come to life they loved it, but really they had already fallen in love with the heart of the place.

Event Coordination

I also Created an Online Wedding Plan System

Created an Online Plan Process that guided couples through the planning process. The system, rooted in strong processes and workflows seamlessly lead couples through wedding planning based on their personalized wedding checklist include tasks such as vendor management, payments, timelines, design choices, food & drink options and everything else needed to plan their perfect day.

Including Wedding Planning Education to help guide couples in smart wedding planning choices

Due to the ongoing pandemic the venue was forced to lay off all employees and shut its doors. To be quite frank, it was devastating to loose my job and watch all we had work for disappear. While this period was unplanned and unexpected, as a lifelong learner I decided to put the time to good use furthering my knowledge and education.
