“Education is the mother of leadership.”

Teaching + Instructional Leadership
With a diverse background in education, I have had the privilege of teaching preschool, kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade, working with students across a wide range of abilities and learning styles. My teaching philosophy centers on creating engaging, student-centered learning environments that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.
Beyond the classroom, I have taken on multiple leadership roles to support both students and fellow educators. I have help guided colleagues through instructional strategies, classroom management, and curriculum implementation. I have also played a role in my district’s AI Cohort and helped with staff training, particularly in the integration of AI in education, where I have led professional development sessions and managed an online discussion board dedicated to helping teachers effectively incorporate AI tools into their teaching.
Additionally, I have supported school administration in scheduling, professional development planning, and site planning, ensuring that our educators have the resources and training necessary to excel. My commitment to continuous growth is reflected in my own ongoing professional development, as I pursue a Master’s in Educational Leadership, a certification in Digital Learning, and a Project Management certification to stay at the forefront of educational innovation.
With a passion for leveraging technology and data-driven decision-making to improve student outcomes, I am dedicated to shaping the future of education by empowering both teachers and students through effective leadership, collaboration, and forward-thinking instructional practices.
Navigating AI Integration in Modern Classrooms
During my master’s program I had the pleasure of working on a research project centered on educators’ perceptions and feeling about AI in Education. As part of the study I created and administered a Classroom Teacher Survey. This survey asked teachers to reflect on how they currently felt about AI in their teaching, how their leadership could better support them in using the tools and applications available to them, and what they felt the future of AI in teaching would be.
The results were quiet similar and a few distinct themes emerged. The first was that teachers in general, felt optimistic and even excited about using AI in their teaching. The second was apprehension about data privacy and age-appropriate usage and content. The third was the need for targeted, on-going and hands on training to familiarize and practice the use of AI.
With the third trend in mind, I worked with my administration at the building level to help create professional development opprotunities for teachers in which they had app-targeted exposure with time for hands-on exploration and time to share with one another. This is an ongoing series at my build now and it is so rewarding to see how teachers are embracing the use of AI in their teaching and classrooms.
In addition to the professional development series, I have also created an AI Discussion Board with monthly AI application highlights from different staff members. It is a place for staff to gather and collaborate around the use of AI in their teaching.
